Ezy-On Tall NHS Compression Stocking Aid
Have you been advised by a medical professional to wear compression hosiery after your hip replacement or knee surgery? Putting on compression socks, TED stockings or medical tights can be a challenge and notoriously difficult by yourself. Especially if you are unable to bend down, have a reduced upper body strength or restricted flexibility.
The Ezy-On Tall stocking frame is part of our dressing aids range. It is a strong robust metal frame which helps keep the pressure tights open. Making it easier to get the stocking onto your foot, but also reduces the stress in your hands and wrists caused by pulling the stocking open.
Here are the key features:
- Suitable for both above and below the knee support stockings, class 1 and 2 compression tights, open toe medical TED stockings, travel, flight or sports socks.
- Chunky foam handles that are easy to hold and non-slip feet to ensure your safety.
- The Ezy-On Tall stocking applicator can be used after your surgery, either lying, sitting or standing up.
- This sock and stocking compression frame is available to buy in both tall (use on your own) and small (ideal as a carers aid) versions.
- Size of the frame is 15″/38cm tall.

What are Compression Stockings for?
Compression, or surgical hosiery are specially designed to apply pressure to your lower legs. Helping to maintain blood flow and reduce discomfort and swelling in your legs. Pressure hosiery may be prescribed by your GP if you have a condition that causes poor blood flow in your legs, such as varicose veins (swollen and enlarged veins), or lymphoedema (when your body’s tissues swell up). Or following surgery or travelling.
Wearing Support Hosiery
Medical socks come in a variety of sizes, lengths and colours depending on the level of compression you require.
Your GP or nurse will measure your legs to see what correct size you require and if they fit properly. You may need to wear them on both legs, or just on one. It will also help to wear your support stockings during the day, taking them off before bed and then applying them again first thing in the morning.
Why do I need a Compression Stocking Applicator?
Pressure socks are usually difficult to put on. This often results in users giving up trying to wearing them, therefore impacting on your long term recovery. Compression stocking applicators help wearers, or their carers, to apply compression tights quickly and easily.

My husband could not bend enough to put his socks on and, being independent, hated asking for help. With this he can manage on his own.

finally found a gizmo that works re: putting on Diabetic stockings, tried other push me pull you Velcro products usually ending in snapping the pull strings. this sturdy metal machine is simplistic but it works… and it’s most likely unbreakable the video in the Amazon sales page shows how easy it is to use so no needful images here. thanks Helping Hand Company!

Relatively easy to use but, a bit on the small side. If you have large calves or, feet larger than about size 10/12 , it would be very difficult to use.

I have struggled and sometimes been in agony trying to get not only the socks on, but to continue to have the strength to actually pull them up. In short – they have even damaged my hands. But this frame arrived and was a miracle. My legs were becoming increasingly swollen as I couldn’t do battle with the socks any longer – so tried to cope without – with resulting damage to my legs. The frame arrived yesterday – such fast delivery – and when I used it this morning I had my compression socks on in seconds. What was normally an exhausting struggle with the dreaded socks, was easy – with only a bit of adjustment required by me. Sure, I’ve bought many more fun and exciting things on Amazon over the years, but this item has been the one I’d rate the highest. I’ve ordered two more – one as a spare and one for a family member. You can’t put a price on comfort and convenience.

Since being disabled, this is one of the best products I have purchased. Other reviews quite rightly point out some of the problems in loading and using the device. I too had a problem, but I addressed it by using a pair of rubber gloves. I also load it whilst standing up and standing the unit on top of a chest of drawers. Doing this, it is easier to see what you are doing. If the gap to put your foot in is not at the centre, you can change this by twisting the stocking whilst on the frame and by making the hole in the centre. A few times practice will ensure that it is easier. Being at an angle is one of the best aspects to help. A totally vertical unit is no good. ‘Marigolds and practice’!!

Bought for mum one of many devices to help her put on the stocking things as she’s now living alone unfortunately her legs are far to swollen to go in the object and those damn stocking are almost impossible for someone who is a little more able than an 80+ lady to get on the device unfortunately mum refuses to use the stockings can’t get them on anyway so her legs are far far worse than when I originally bought this device

With arthritic hands, my mother was struggling to put her support tights on, and had stopped wearing them. This has given back her independence.

Strong and easy to use but quite heavy and not collapsible, so takes up space and must be lifted onto knees as a whole for loading socks.

I reviewed this about 10 days ago, when we first got it and hadn’t learned how to use it. It still has to be a joint effort with my husband as I’m not yet able to make the hand movements required to get stocking onto the frame. But we’ve just about got it sorted, and I’ve been able to sign off with my morning carer. So, positive.

Helpful for a carer – After a knee replacement, I wasn’t able to use this on my own but the person assisting me did find it was easier than putting the stockings on directly.

My husband found it impossible to put his compression stockings on even with my help as they were so strong. We bought this device out of desperation and are so pleased we did!! It takes a couple of days of usage to get used to it but after a bit of perseverance it is fantastic. Would definitely recommend it.

Having tried many different types of sock & compression stocking aids I felt that I was destined to struggle on by hand trying to get my knee high compression stockings on.
Not easy when you have hip & spinal problems that limit your movement!
That was until a friend suggested I try the Ezy-on tall compression & sock aid. On arrival I read though the instructions several times to ensure that I was going to use it properly & not cause myself any unessasary injury & it did take a few attempts until I had it mastered. The tall handles mean much less bending & once the stocking is in position it is simple to slide your foot in, pull up on the handles & the stocking glides smoothly up the leg!
What a great find, thank you.

The only device that works for me. Having tried other methods of putting on compression socks, I can say that this makes it relatively easy. Just need to be careful that the stocking does not twist while mounting it as the heel must be in the right place before inserting your foot.

Although still a little difficult to use , it is certainly a very useful aid to putting on surgical compression stockings post-op.
Although I had someone to assist me with this task we would have found it extremely difficult to do without this device .
Well worth purchasing.

“Does Just What it Says on the Box” assists in putting on compression socks I bought this item for a friend to see if it would help in putting on these difficult items. Just started wearing below knee compression stockings. Tried to apply than by hand however I struggled to say the least. This gizmo is a god send. Place applicator flat on bed roll the stockings ( inside out ) over it. Place on floor insert foot and pull the stocking over leg. I deducted on star for value as it’s a little pricey. However highly recommended.
